Burgos Pointer
Burgos Pointer
The Burgos Pointer is a canine race native to Spain, and is also called the Burgalese Pointer. Originally from Castile, this harsh breed is utilized for hunting and has some excellent characteristics for small games notably in the area of Burgos.
The race is from the 16th Century and comes from a fairly extensive Castilian plateau. The breed is very likely involved in the formation of this group's other races.
The Sabueso Spaniard and Pachón Navarro are thought to have come from a mix (also known as the Perros de Punta Ibericos).
Burgos Pointer may not be crystallized in style like other breeds of its kindred (such as the English Pointer), but its port square gives an unambiguous impression of strength. Their large ears and two folded panels in the form of double chin are noteworthy. The tail's initial length is normally chopped down by a third.
Farce: There are two variants of colour: one where the base color is stained, or where the basic color is brown, which in that case is white, and the other where brown and brown is white.
Coat: The fur is short, silky and bushy.
Height: men between 62 and 67 centimeters and females between 59 and 64 centimeters (23 to 25 inches).
Weight: 25 to 30 kg (55 to 66 pounds).
This hunting is employed in isolated landscapes, and has not been exploited for other reasons, like many of the races in this category. In this hunting breed "trace and shows" are mentioned (by its smell so). It is utilized in both hair hunting (sheep, hair, etc.) and feathering (birds). It is suitable for hunting (hard as it is) in any field since its physical endurance and speed are outstanding.
