The Italian Bracco is an Italian dog pointer.Bracco Italiano was the first dog registered by the Italian Kennel Club, created in 1882. The Ente Nazionale della Cinofilia Italiana was recognized early in 1949 and later that year it established a race association called the Società Amatori Bracco Italiano. The Federation Cynologique Internationale recognised the breed in its whole in 1956.
A total of 24,613 dogs have been registered in 41 years from 1970 to 2011.
From 2010 to 2018, Italy registered over 700 new registrations annually, most of which were white and orange every year.
The Italiano Bracco is approximately square - the length of the body at the withers is nearly the same. It has long ears and long top lips hanging underneath the bottom male.
The robe is short and thick. It may be white or white with orange or brown patches, or white with orange or brown twinkles. A defect is regarded to be depriving any other colour, such as black and tri-color marks. Bianco-arancio (white and orange) and roano-marrone are the most common hues (liver roan).
