Barbet dog
The Barbet is a dog race; it is a French water dog in medium size. The Société Centrale Canine, the French Kennel Club, and the Fédération Cynologique Internationale classify it as belonging to Group 8 (retrievers, flushing dogs, and water dogs) (International Canine Federation).
Barbet is an unusual race. Most Barbets are black, brown, black and white, or brown and white, particularly those displayed in conformation exhibitions. White chest patches and white paws or legs are commonly found on coated black or brown dogs. Fawn and leg variants are recurrent (which may vary from pearl to cream to gold), but in limited numbers.
Male barbs are normally between 21 and 25 cm high, between 40 and 60 lb (18 and 27 kg), whereas females normally between 20 and 23 cm (51 and 58 cm) and 30 and 50 lb (18 and 27 kilogram) (14 to 23 kg).
The colour of the race is strong black, gray, brown, fawn, white or more or less pied. The hues are not acceptable. All red and light fawn hues are allowed. Preferably, the shade is same to the body's hue. Grey and white are exceedingly rare; a fault is regarded to have mixed colors (save white). Solid dark, solid brown or both hues are the most frequent colors with white marks. Globally, the number of births in 2007 is 176. They were all born solid, black or solid brown, with some marked white on the chest, chin and legs.
The personage of the barbet is described as pleasant, happy, obedient, and smart. You learn quickly and require lifelong instruction for compliance. With kids, families and the elderly they are excellent. Barbets will be linked to their family and will always like to be with the family in the same room. You must practice every day to maintain the dog in good health.
